Artificial jewellery, also known as fashion jewellery, imitation jewellery, or costume jewellery, needs gentle care to maintain its shine, plating, and stone setting. Always wear your jewellery after applying makeup, perfume, lotion, or hairspray, as cosmetic chemicals can cause tarnishing, discoloration, and plating damage. After each use, wipe it with a soft dry cloth to remove sweat, body oils, and dust buildup.

Keep your jewellery away from water, moisture, and humidity, which are major causes of rusting, fading, and loss of polish. Avoid wearing it while bathing, swimming, exercising, or in humid weather. If it becomes wet, dry it immediately and store only after it is completely moisture-free.

Store artificial jewellery in a dry, airtight environment to prevent oxidation and color fading. Keep each piece separately in a zip-lock pouch, anti-tarnish jewellery box, or soft fabric pouch to avoid scratches, tangling, and stone loosening. Adding silica gel inside the storage box helps control excess moisture.

Clean gently using a microfiber or soft cotton cloth. For light dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not use chemical cleaners, soap water, toothpaste, baking soda, vinegar, or metal polish, as these can strip the gold or silver plating and damage decorative stones.
